Having the month of August off from weddings has come at a lovely time. I'm finding myself in many new seasons of life, and having the time to embrace and nourish them has been wonderful. A little while back, I was introduced to a GREAT group of people who love to get outdoors just as much as I do. A camping trip to Crabtree Falls was organized and we had a great weekend for it! We camped along the river at Crabtree Falls Campgrounds and ended up hiking about 10 miles up into the Priest Wilderness area. Franz and I made it to the overlook a little before everyone else, and it was fun to scramble about a bit. Once everyone reached the summit, we chillaxed a before making the steep descent to the car
Let me just say; please don't do this hike if you are not reasonably fit. The last section of this trail was steep as hell, and 3 of us ran down most of it and it still took us well over an hour to get off the mountain. My legs will be jello for days!
We got back to the camp site, and the others already had a delicious spread on the picnic tables, with jars of candles everywhere. It almost felt like an intimate wedding ceremony! We ate, drank, chatted, and listened to the guitar and drums. It was such wonderful decision to disconnect from technology for the weekend! Seriously, I am guilty of chronically checking my Instagram and FB, and I really valued not having the option to check them. Perhaps a new weekend tradition? I'm feeling refreshed, and ready to take on the world!
What did you end up doing over this beautiful weekend? I would love to know, so please share :D
P.S. (These photos are a mix of cell phone photos and camera, so please excuse the quality on a few of them!)
