Happy Friday all! I admit, I failed at blogging this week. Not only did I have every intention of blogging this Thursday, but I had the intention of blogging my Yosemite trip from 2 MONTHS ago. However, I am giving myself some grace (and I hope you will too!) and allowing that to be a post for next week. However, this post is equally awesome! Again, back in May, I flew out to Boulder to visit a couple dear friends. One of those dear friends is Jana. We met back in college. Our boyfriends at the time were housemates, and all of us were climbers. Her and I have kept in touch over the years, as I moved to the East coast, and she headed West from Illinois, settling in Colorado. This girl is also got some serious smarts. Like PhD biomechanical engineering smart. Like, my brain can't even go there. But this got me thinking. I have so many beautiful, talented, educated, and kick ass female friends, and I want to capture them in the most perfect way I know how: my photography. So I have decided to start a series called "Strong as an Oak." I want to showcase fierce, talented, bold, strong women. I want to show the world that we can be feminine and still kick ass. And so I begin this series with one of my most beautiful and intelligent friends, Jana! This girl braved frigid temps and icy rain to drive around with me in the mountains of Colorado. I think these photos were well worth it!
You wouldn't know it, but it was absolutely FREEZING the day we went out and took these photos! Jana is such a trooper. We drove up in El Dorado Canyon and managed to beat the storms! If you stick it out until the end, you will get to see her GORGEOUS pup, Eli!
Girl, you rocked this! I love being around inspiring, uplifting people, and this gal is full of energy! School full time, work, research, and adventure. This girl is killing it!
The next day, we picked up her gorgeous dog, Eli, and headed into Boulder canyon. Again, we missed the afternoon storms (which are crazy in Colorado!)
