Mary + Patrick | On Sunny Slope Farm | Harrisonburg Virginia
How beautiful is it that friends and family flew all the way in from as far as California and Hawaii to celebrate Mary and Patrick!!! The whole day was a beautiful blur of friends and family, food and laughter, and flying children! I swear, just keep on reading, you'll see!
Mary and her ladies spent the morning in Charlottesville prepping for the big day. I loved all of her details, from her great-grandmothers delicate rosary, to her mothers handkerchief, her something blue!
So much thought went into every little detail. Patrick is a mechanical engineer, and I just loved that his watch and cuff links both showed the mechanical working of their insides! Of course, succulents in any arrangement are certain to give you all the heart eyes too! Speaking of heart eyes (or maybe teary eyes) was when Mary revealed that she had her grandpa's police badge sewn into her dress and a way to keep him with her on her wedding day! Gah!
Mary and Patrick shared a really sweet first look. I can distinctly remember Patrick turning around and seeing his jaw drop. He definitely uttered something along the lines of "Oh my God, you're gorgeous!"
We were able to sneak in some lovely group shots, including the big one with all the flower girls and ring bearers. They were sooo cute!
Before the ceremony started, the gals gathered around Mary to pray and have some quiet time together. Soon enough, it was show time! And before you knew it, Mary and Patrick were husband and wife! A celebratory ringing of the wedding bell was definitely in order!
Mary and Patrick are firm believers in supporting the local animal shelters (which I love them all the more for) and so in lieu of gifts, asked for donations be made to the local non-kill shelter. Their cake was absolutely beautiful, with adorable Star Wars inspired cake toppers, complete with a puppy-dog Yoda!
We were able to steal away for a few newly married photos before it was time for toasts and dancing!
I knew the sunset was going to be gorgeous, and we certainly made the most of it! These two totally killed it!
I haven't seen this often, but Mary and Patrick played the "shoe game." Basically, each person gets a shoe from themselves and their new spouse and questions are asked of them. You raise the shoe of whoever you think the question is directed towards. It certainly provided a lot of laughs!
Soon the dancing started, and I have to say, the kiddos really shone bright on the dance floor. Their parents were getting into it too, and before you knew it, all the little ones were sailing high into the air (don't worry, they were safe and having a blast!)
The whole day was like a fairy tale with its very own princess and prince charming. Mary and Patrick, I am beyond honored that you allowed me into your lives to capture one of the most important day of yours. Cheers to a lifetime of Love + Adventure!
