Sunrise Easter Hike | Old Rag Mountain | Shenandoah NP
Happy Easter, friends! I don't know about you, but today (and this weekend) has been absolutely GLORIOUS! And being the outdoor loving soul that I am, what better way to celebrate than a moonlit/sunrise hike at one of Virginia's most popular mountains! With a 2:30 am start time, getting up this morning was rough. But being one of the first on the trail, with only headlamps and moonlight to guide the way, it quickly became apparent just how worth it that early start was. Approaching the start of the boulder scrambles, the sounds of the forest coming alive was music to the ear. The blowing wind was welcoming against the beads of sweat running down my face, and the songs of the different birds starting their day was music to the ear.
Starting next week, between weddings and engagement sessions, I won't have another free weekend until July. So I think that this morning was the perfect way to welcome in spring and welcome in the busy season that is upon me!
