CrossKeys Vineyard | Brittany + Nick | Mt Crawford VA
"And think not that you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course." -Khalil Gibran
Brittany and Nick truly had a wedding to remember. Surrounded by her mom and three closest friends, this beautiful lady got ready for her groom, while Nick and his groomsmen relaxed and took in the day. Brittany's mom also brought along a small family Bible that had been carried and signed by both Brittany's mom and grandma on her wedding day. I'm a sucker for traditions, so I absolutely loved the idea that Brittany continued on the tradition as well!
Sara with The Faded Poppy put together stunning bouquets and florals that really gave everything that little extra pop! When I was photographing their wedding rings, I noticed the sweet inscription inside Nick's band, and my heart melted just a little bit! Soon, it was time for first looks, both with her dad, and with Nick!
After a sweet first look with her dad (who may have technically seen her before she was ready, oops!) we headed downstairs where Nick was waiting. I have to admit, I really love when guys get emotional on their wedding days, and Nick definitely had his breath taken away when he laid his eyes on his bride! After some quiet time together, we gathered the whole bridal party for a few photos before heading inside as guests began to arrive
Once upstairs, Brittany and her mom got to share some time together, with her mom making a few adjustments to Brittany's dress, along with putting that beautiful veil on her head. Then, before we knew it, the ceremony was about to start!
One thing I really loved about both their families, was just how much they love and care on and for each other. I mean, you can really see it in their gestures and expressions. Truly wonderful! After exchanging deeply heartfelt vows, the new Mr and Mrs Evans were ready for a few more photos and then it was time to get the party started!
CrossKeys Vineyard has a great balcony overlooking the courtyard, so I'm glad we were able to get a big group shot of all the guests with Brittany and Nick! Toasts were so emotional (in the best way!) and I don't know if any of the toasters or toasties ( IDK if that's the right terms, but we're going with it) had a dry eye after any of the speeches. There were also PLENTY of deep laughs and you could really feel the warm energy buzzing in that room! Before we knew it, everyone was on the dance floor and it was sad to have the night end!
Brittany and Nick, thank you so very much for choosing me as your wedding photographer. It was an incredible honor to be a part of your special day, and to be welcomed in by your friends and family. Have an amazing time in Napa. Cheers to a lifetime of love and adventure!
